DESCRIPTION
The Ortovox Switchback 32 is a ski touring backpack designed for those tackling demanding alpine routes, where every gram counts and functionality cannot be compromised. With a 32-liter capacity, it offers the volume needed for long days on ice, snow, and rock, while maintaining a compact and balanced profile on the back.
Carrying system and structure
The carrying system is designed to ensure stability during the steepest ascents: the ventilated back with an internal aluminum frame distributes the load evenly, reducing fatigue on the shoulders and lower back even when fully loaded. The ergonomic 3D-Airmesh shoulder straps promote breathability and adhere to the torso without restricting movement, a decisive feature during technical ascents.
Technical features for ski touring
- A-frame and diagonal ski attachments, compatible with ski touring skis of various sizes
- Integrated ice axe holder and ski pole fixation system, easily accessible with gloves
- Dedicated front pocket with organizer for avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe, separate from the main compartment for quick access in case of emergency
- High-abrasion-resistant 210D Ripstop outer material, suitable for contact with rock and icy snow
- Compatible with a water bladder of up to 3 liters
- Hip belt with pockets for snacks and quick-access accessories
The combination of structural lightness and targeted internal organization makes the Switchback 32 a solid choice for alpine ski touring, from day trips in the Alps to routes on mixed terrain that require full equipment always within easy reach.
