CAMP Piccozza Corsa Alpine Ice Axe
CAMP Piccozza Corsa Alpine Ice Axe - Yellow is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Corsa Alpine 55 cm ice axe is designed for those tackling alpine and ski touring routes, seeking the right balance between low weight and reliable performance on varied terrain. It is not an extreme glacier tool, but a versatile tool that performs well on both snowy slopes and more challenging sections.
Construction and Materials
The shaft is made of super-light aluminum, which significantly reduces the overall weight compared to all-steel ice axes. The steel head, on the other hand, ensures the necessary hardness to bite into ice and compacted snow effectively, keeping the pick and adze sharper longer than aluminum variants. This combination of materials allows for weight reduction without sacrificing grip in sections that require a true self-arrest.
Usage and Adaptability
- 55 cm length, suitable for average heights and terrain with moderate-to-steep gradients
- Ideal for classic mountaineering, ski touring, and glacier tours with technical sections
- The lightweight shaft makes it high-performing for fast ascents and long traverses, where every gram counts
- Compatible with standard leashes for safe rope team use
The Corsa Alpine is the appropriate choice for those who do not want to carry an oversized tool in their backpack for their objective, but need an ice axe they can rely on when the terrain demands it.
- Mountaineering
- Ski Touring
