DESCRIPTION
The Mountain Equipment Super Alpine Glove is a technical glove designed for those facing challenging alpine environments, where handling equipment—from crampons to climbing skins—requires precise grip and reliable thermal protection even in adverse conditions.
Construction and materials
The back is made of stretch EXOLITE XP Softshell, a fabric that combines wind resistance, breathability, and freedom of movement, adapting to wrist flexion during technical maneuvers. The palm is covered in water-repellent treated goatskin leather, a material that ensures a firm and sensitive grip on cold and wet surfaces, such as ice axe handles, ski touring poles, or carabiners. Inside, the fleece lining provides effective thermal insulation without compromising finger dexterity.
Ideal use and context
This glove excels during the transition phase of mountain outings: it is warm enough for breaks and precise enough to operate clips, levers, and ski binding systems without needing to be removed. It is a solid choice for ski touring, winter trekking, and approach mountaineering, where alternating moments of intense effort with brief periods of manual work is the norm. The combination of water-repellent leather and softshell makes it perform well even in the presence of wet snow or light rain.
