DESCRIPTION
The Salewa Sella Free 20L backpack was born from mountaineering experience in the Dolomites and meets the specific needs of ski touring and freeriding on technical slopes. The name is no coincidence: the couloirs of the Sella and the classic freeride lines of the Dolomites inspired a geometry designed for dynamic movement with skis on your feet.
Carrying system and fit
The heart of the backpack is the Dry Back Contact system, which creates a ventilation channel between the back and the back panel, reducing perspiration during long ascents in the skin track. The anatomical waist belt and contoured ergonomic shoulder straps distribute the load evenly and, above all, do not restrict torso rotation during turns or descents in fresh snow. For a woman moving on steep terrain, this freedom of movement is not a minor detail: it is what distinguishes a functional backpack from one that hinders.
Technical features
- 20-liter capacity, ideal for day ski touring trips
- Dedicated pocket for shovel, probe, and avalanche transceiver with quick access
- Front ski carrier for A-frame transport and ice axe attachments
- Attachments for external helmets
- Waterproof pocket for wet clothing or a technical layer
- Lightweight design to avoid weighing down the ski touring setup
A practical solution for those who alternate demanding ascents and technical descents without wanting to compromise between carrying capacity and agility on snowy terrain.
