DESCRIPTION
The Mammut Carbon Cartridge 300 Bar is the refill cartridge for avalanche airbag backpacks, designed for those who want to avoid unnecessary grams at high altitudes without compromising the reliability of the safety system. The structure is made with a carbon fiber wrapping that ensures high structural resistance while maintaining a low weight: when fully charged, the cartridge weighs approximately 310 grams, 50% less than an equivalent steel cartridge, a concrete advantage when every gram on your backpack makes a difference on long ski touring trips.
Technical specifications
- Nominal pressure: 300 bar
- Weight when fully charged: ~310 g
- Construction: carbon fiber wrapped cylinder
- Weight reduction compared to steel: ~50%
- Compatible with Mammut airbag systems designed for 300 bar cartridges
Usage and context
The cartridge fits directly into the dedicated compartment of compatible Mammut airbag backpacks and is designed for those who tackle off-piste, ski touring, and freeride in avalanche risk conditions. The 300 bar pressure ensures rapid and complete activation of the air cushion in the event of an avalanche. Before each outing, it is essential to check that the cartridge is correctly charged and installed; after use or activation of the system, the cartridge must be refilled at an authorized Mammut center.
