DESCRIPTION
The Kong Trapper QD 17CM Petrol is a sport climbing quickdraw built around Trapper locking carabiners, a solution that effectively balances structural strength and weight savings, making it suitable for both cragging and gym use on sport routes.
Construction and materials
Both carabiners feature the Keylock system, which eliminates the locking nose and drastically reduces the risk of snagging on bolts, pitons, and fixed quickdraws. The webbing is made of variable-width polyamide (16/25 mm): narrower in the center to reduce weight and bulk, and wider at the ends for proper load distribution on the carabiners. The 17 cm length is well suited to routes with protection slightly offset from the rock, facilitating proper rope management while climbing.
Technical details
- Trapper carabiners with a Keylock system on both ends
- Variable-width polyamide webbing (16/25 mm)
- Webbing length: 17 cm
- Fast Rubber made of ultra-resistant silicone to lock the rope carabiner in the optimal position
- Also available in a 12 cm version
- Petrol color for quick identification on the wall
The silicone Fast Rubber keeps the rope carabiner correctly oriented at all times, eliminating unwanted rotation during the draw. An operational detail that proves particularly useful on fast sequences or in conditions of muscle fatigue.
