DESCRIPTION
The Kong Trapper QD 12CM Petrol is a sport climbing quickdraw that combines two Trapper locking carabiners with a variable-width polyamide sling, designed for those seeking a concrete balance between low weight and solid performance on rock routes.
Construction and materials
Both Trapper carabiners feature the Keylock system, which eliminates the traditional hooked nose and prevents accidental opening during quickdraw maneuvers — a detail that makes a difference in managing the rope quickly at the crag. The shape is optimized to ensure a secure grip even with gloves or in wet conditions, without adding unnecessary weight.
- 16/25 mm variable-width polyamide sling, which distributes loads more evenly along its entire length
- Sling length: 12 cm
- Ultra-resistant Fast Rubber silicone keeper, which keeps the lower carabiner correctly oriented without loosening over time
- Petrol color for quick identification during retrieval
Use and performance
The 12 cm length is the standard size for routes with closely spaced bolts, where a longer quickdraw would create unnecessary rope friction. The silicone Fast Rubber maintains the orientation of the lower carabiner even after hundreds of falls, reducing the need to reorient it manually while climbing. The carabiners come packaged as a pair, ready for direct use on the wall.
