DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Express 17 cm is a pre-assembled quickdraw designed for sport climbing, where speed of handling and reliability when clipping make a difference. The 17 cm length represents the mid-range size in the range, suitable for most standard crag situations, with an ideal middle ground between the compactness of the 12 cm and the flexibility of the 25 cm to reduce the lever effect on the quickdraws.
Construction and materials
The quickdraw is made of high-tenacity nylon webbing with a shaped geometry that allows a firm and secure grip during clipping operations, even with gloves or in stressful conditions. The STRING system — an elastic material protector that wraps around the lower carabiner — serves a dual purpose: it keeps the carabiner correctly oriented relative to the bolt or chain, preventing unwanted rotations, and at the same time protects the webbing from abrasion at the point of contact with the metal, extending the useful life of the quickdraw over time.
Practical use
- Length 17 cm, a versatile size for progression on sport routes
- Compatible with Petzl range carabiners and standard route carabiners
- STRING protection included for stable carabiner orientation
- Also available in 12 cm and 25 cm variants to complete the crag set
A solid choice for those who want reliable quickdraws, easy to handle even in fast sequences on demanding routes.
