DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Nano Traxion is a locking pulley designed for rescue applications, fixed-rope progression, and pulley systems in situations requiring maximum efficiency with minimum weight. Weighing just 53 grams, it is one of the lightest locking pulleys on the market, designed for those who cannot afford unnecessary weight on the wall or during emergency operations.
Technical performance
At the heart of the system are sealed ball bearings, which ensure a 91% efficiency rating: a concrete figure that translates into actual force transmitted during hauling maneuvers, reducing fatigue and increasing the efficiency of the pulley system. The pulley is compatible with ropes measuring 8 to 11 mm in diameter.
Design and versatility
- The openable side plate allows the rope to be inserted midway, without having to pass it through the free end
- The integrated locking mechanism allows for the quick and reliable construction of self-locking pulley systems
- The dedicated hole on the pulley allows an Sm'D carabiner to be attached via a cord, keeping the components together and ready for use at all times
- Its compact design also makes it ideal for fixed-rope progression in mountaineering and big wall climbing
The stated breaking load is 4 kN on the locking mechanism and 20 kN on the main structure. A pulley suitable for both technical rescue and advanced mountaineering, where every gram saved in equipment is converted into energy available for the ascent.
