DESCRIPTION

The La Sportiva G-Tech boot was created to meet the demands of the most challenging technical mountaineering: ice climbing, modern mixed climbing, gullies, and high-altitude big walls where every gram counts and movement precision is crucial. It is not a versatile boot, but a specific tool designed for those climbing at advanced levels in extreme environmental conditions.

Construction and Materials

The structure combines a high-resistance technical synthetic upper with a Vibram rubber sole optimized for contact on ice and rock. The BOA® lacing system integrated with traditional laces allows for precise and rapid adjustment even with gloves. The sole is compatible with technical quick-release crampons, thanks to its semi-rigid shape with front and rear welts compliant with UIAA standards for automatic crampons.

  • Low weight compared to its category, to reduce fatigue on sustained ascents
  • Reinforced toe for precise frontpointing on vertical ice and mixed terrain
  • Adequate thermal insulation for extreme high-altitude temperatures
  • Anatomical fit that ensures sensitivity and control in technical mixed sections

The G-Tech is the ideal boot for male mountaineers tackling routes such as steep couloirs, advanced-grade icefalls, or sporty mixed terrain in challenging mountain environments, where lightness cannot be achieved at the expense of rigidity and protection.
