DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Irvis Hybrid crampons are designed for those who tackle glacier traverses and demanding ski touring trips without wanting to give up the possibility of tackling ice sections. The hybrid construction is the heart of the design: the front part is made of steel, a material that guarantees solidity and long-lasting sharpness of the front crampons for progression on ice, while the rear part is in aluminum to contain the overall weight where the stresses are lower.
Construction and attachment system
The flexible connection system between the two sections adapts the crampons to soles with different degrees of rigidity, making them compatible with both ski touring boots and semi-rigid approach footwear. The automatic/automatic or manual attachment system allows you to adapt the crampon to different types of boots, ensuring a secure fit even with rubber soles.
Technical features
- Hybrid steel/aluminum structure to balance strength and lightness
- 10 points for stable progression on hard snow and ice
- Horizontal front points suitable for progression on steep icy slopes
- Compatible with ski touring and semi-rigid approach boots
- Anti-balling included to prevent snow buildup under the sole
A concrete solution for those who alternate long glacier approaches with short technical passages on ice: the Irvis Hybrid crampons offer a weight-to-performance ratio that is difficult to find in products made entirely of steel or entirely of aluminum.
