DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Ascent is a 10-point steel crampon designed for those seeking serious mountaineering performance without sacrificing lightness. The high-strength steel structure ensures high rigidity despite its compact and minimalist profile, a balance difficult to achieve in this product category.
Construction and Technical Performance
The 10 steel points are positioned to offer aggressive traction on compact snow, ice, and easy mixed terrain. The geometry of the structure keeps the crampon rigid during progression, reducing the flexion that compromises stability and control in lighter models. The minimalist design eliminates superfluous material, reducing overall weight without sacrificing structural integrity.
Binding and Compatibility
The binding system is universal, compatible with most alpine footwear with rigid or semi-rigid soles, including winter hiking boots and light mountaineering boots. This makes it a versatile solution for approaches on icy terrain, winter traverses, and glacier excursions that do not require a technical ice climbing crampon.
- 10 high-strength steel points
- Rigid and compact structure with reduced weight
- Universal binding for boots with rigid or semi-rigid soles
- Suitable for light mountaineering, glacier travel, and winter trekking on icy terrain
