DESCRIPTION
The La Sportiva Supercouloir Insulated Glove is a technical glove specifically designed for ice climbing, dry-tooling, and winter mountaineering in extreme conditions. Its design philosophy focuses on balancing thermal protection and tactile sensitivity, which is crucial when handling ice axes, ice screws, or assessing ice quality during a climb.
Construction and Protection
The structure integrates waterproof inserts that waterproof the glove, protecting against direct contact with snow, ice, and moisture, without compromising breathability. The insulating padding ensures warmth even during prolonged stops on the wall in sub-zero temperatures. The lightweight and minimal profile reduces bulk on the back of the hand, improving grip on tool levers and perception of ice axes.
Fit and Functional Details
- Velcro closure flap at the wrist for precise fit adjustment, with integrated silicone logo
- Puller for quickly putting on and taking off the glove, even with cold hands or in emergency situations
- Safety leash to anchor the glove to the harness or jacket and prevent loss on the wall
This is an excellent choice for those tackling ice couloirs, icefalls, and mixed routes where reliable protection, low weight, and maximum finger freedom of movement are essential.
