DESCRIPTION
The Ferrino Survival Blanket is an essential emergency tool for anyone engaging in outdoor activities in unpredictable environments. Made from metallized polyester film, this isothermal blanket uses the principle of thermal reflection: the reflective surface retains up to 90% of body heat in hypothermia situations, while also reflecting external solar heat, protecting against overheating in extreme heat conditions.
Technical Features
- Material: Bimetallized polyester film, tear-resistant and waterproof
- Extremely low weight, ideal for slipping into a backpack or first aid kit pocket without impacting overall load
- Bidirectional function: one side reflects heat towards the body (cold protection), the other reflects it away (heat protection)
- Compact and foldable back to its original packaged size
When and why to carry it
In case of injury, forced stop at high altitude, or sudden weather deterioration, the survival blanket helps maintain stable body temperature while awaiting rescue. It is a standard item in the first aid kits of hikers, mountaineers, and alpine guides, and represents an indispensable safety measure for any mountain outing, even in warmer seasons where thermal risks can change rapidly.
