The Beal Aramide 5.5 mm is a cord with an aramid (Kevlar®) core and polyamide sheath: static and highly resistant, with minimal stretch and maximum durability. It also withstands heat well, which is why it is widely used for locking rings, belay cords, and lowering systems.
