The Petzl Paso Guide 7.7 mm is a 60-metre half rope designed for technical mountaineering and ice climbing in demanding conditions. With a diameter of just 7.7 mm, it offers a weight-to-performance ratio that makes it a practical choice for those tackling long routes, mixed ridges, or ice falls where every gram counts.
Water-Repellent Treatment and Durability
The UIAA Dry Guide treatment applied to both the core and the sheath ensures high resistance to the absorption of water, snow, and ice. In wet or sub-zero conditions, an untreated rope can absorb over 50% of its weight in water, increasing stiffness and losing its ability to slide. The UIAA Dry Guide treatment keeps the rope light, manageable, and dynamically effective even after prolonged exposure to moisture — a decisive feature for everyday use in alpine environments.
