DESCRIPTION
The Beal Stinger III 9.4mm Unicore DRY Cover is a dynamic climbing rope that occupies a strategic position in the space between thin performance ropes and intermediate diameters: with its 9.4mm diameter, it offers a concrete balance between handling, weight, and durability, making it suitable for both high-level sport climbing and mountaineering outings.
Technology and construction
The technical heart of this rope is Beal's UNICORE technology, which involves the structural bonding between the core and the sheath along the entire length of the rope. This bond eliminates the risk of sheath slippage, a critical problem in the event of a partial cut or heavy abrasion on bare rock, ensuring a significantly higher resistance to friction forces compared to traditional constructions. The DRY Cover treatment waterproofs the outer sheath, reducing water absorption in conditions of rain, snow, or ice: a wet rope can increase in weight by over 50% and reduce grip performance, problems that the DRY coating significantly mitigates.
Main technical characteristics
- Diameter: 9.4mm
- Length: 70 meters
- Technology: UNICORE (bonded core and sheath)

The length of 70 meters makes it a practical choice for crags with long pitches and for mountaineering routes where the extra coverage makes a difference in terms of safety and autonomy.
