Petzl Picchu Helmet
Petzl Picchu Helmet - Purple is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Picchu is a helmet specifically designed for children who are starting climbing or cycling, with a robust construction and 360° protection suitable for a young athlete's developing activities. Its wraparound shape — more extensive than traditional climbing helmets — effectively covers the head on all sides: front, sides, and back, reducing exposed areas typically vulnerable during falls for young children.
Construction and Certifications
The Picchu features a thick outer shell construction ("hard shell" technology), which provides superior resistance to abrasion and repeated impacts compared to exposed polystyrene solutions. This construction choice makes it particularly suitable for the intensive use typical of children, who do not always treat equipment with the same care as an adult. The helmet simultaneously complies with European EN 12492 standards for climbing and American CPSC standards for cycling, making it versatile for both disciplines.
Comfort and Adaptability
- Nape adjustment system to adapt to the child's growth
- Adjustable chin strap for a secure and stable fit
- Compact and lightweight design to avoid neck strain during extended sessions
- Compatible with Petzl Tikka series headlamps thanks to dedicated attachments
It is a practical choice for parents looking for a certified, durable helmet suitable for both crags and bike trails, without having to purchase separate equipment for each activity.
