Edelrid Salathe Lite Helmet
Edelrid Salathe Lite Helmet - Icemint / 1 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The Salathe Lite by Edelrid is a climbing and mountaineering helmet that pushes the boundaries of the weight-to-protection ratio, thanks to the adoption of Curv®, a high-performance thermoplastic that replaces the traditional ABS shell. The result is a weight reduction of approximately 20% compared to the standard version, with mechanical properties comparable to fiber composites like carbon: good structural rigidity and impact resistance.
Technology and Materials
The Curv® shell ensures high impact absorption capacity while maintaining a reduced thickness, a feature that translates into a compact and aerodynamic profile. The interior is lined with multi-density EPS foam, which distributes impact forces over wider areas. The Twist&Fit adjustment system allows for precise head circumference fitting without removing gloves, a practical element in cold conditions or on challenging terrain.
Who Chooses It and Why
- Suitable for rock climbing, multi-pitch routes, and technical mountaineering where every gram counts
- Compatible with headlamps and visors thanks to integrated attachment points
- Certified according to EN 12492 (mountaineering) and UIAA 106 standards
- Passive ventilation optimized for use in warm seasons
For those facing long days on the wall or challenging approaches, the Salathe Lite offers approved protection without sacrificing the comfort of a helmet that is almost invisible on the head.
