DESCRIPTION
The Wild Country Session Curved Gate is a hot-forged aluminum carabiner, designed for those seeking a reliable and versatile connector for both sport and traditional climbing. Hot forging ensures a homogeneous and compact structure, with a major axis strength of up to 24 kN, making it suitable for the most demanding applications in sport and traditional climbing.
Construction and Geometry
The I-beam spine is an engineering choice that reduces weight without sacrificing structural rigidity: material is distributed where it's needed, lightening less stressed areas. The Keylock nose eliminates the hooked protrusions typical of traditional gate systems, reducing the risk of accidental snagging on bolts, slings, and cordelettes during quick maneuvers.
Usage and Strengths
- The curved gate facilitates one-handed opening, even with gloves or cold fingers
- Its slim profile makes it suitable as a quickdraw carabiner and for building anchors
- The black color allows for easy identification within the rack
- The optimized strength-to-weight ratio also makes it suitable for those who want to minimize the overall weight of their gear
A solid choice for those who want a technical carabiner without sacrificing everyday practicality.
- Climbing
- Mountaineering
