DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Vertigo Wire-Lock is a locking carabiner specifically developed for use with the SCORPIO VERTIGO series via ferrata lanyards, where it is mounted on the ends to ensure connection to the via ferrata anchor points.
Construction and locking system
The body is made of high-strength aluminum with a shape designed to offer a firm grip even with gloves. The Wire-Lock automatic locking system uses a wire gate that locks automatically after each opening, reducing the risk of forgetting the carabiner open during maneuvers on the wall. The large opening of the gate facilitates quick attachment to fixings even in awkward positions or with one hand.
Technical details
- Keylock system: the tip of the gate is hookless, eliminating accidental snagging on fixings and ropes
- Wire-Lock automatic locking for constant safety during maneuvers at the via ferrata sections
- Certifications: EN 12275 / EN 362, compliant with standards for via ferrata carabiners and industrial connectors
- Low weight thanks to the aluminum alloy body
In practice, the Vertigo Wire-Lock makes the transition between via ferrata sections smoother and safer: the wide opening of the gate and the automatic locking allow you to attach and detach the lanyard from the fixing with a single hand, always keeping the other in contact with the via ferrata.
