DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Spirit straight-gate is an aluminum locking carabiner specifically designed for sport climbing and multi-pitch work. With a lightweight despite its standard size, it offers the right balance between handling and robustness when clipping.
Technology and construction
The Keylock system is one of the distinctive features of this carabiner: the gate nose is hookless, which eliminates the risk of accidentally hooking onto bolts, quickdraws, and gear during quick clipping and unclipping operations. This results in smoother maneuvers, especially in demanding sections where clipping speed can make a difference.
- Shape: straight-gate, ideal for those who prefer a clean and controlled opening
- Material: aluminum for the carabiner body
- Locking system: Keylock with a hookless nose
- Size: standard, compatible with all common quickdraws and rock slings
- Certifications: CE EN 12275, UIAA
On the wall
The straight gate performs particularly effectively on quickdraws positioned low or in areas where the wrist works in a natural position. The combination of a slim profile, responsive gate, and hookless nose makes it suitable for both crag sessions and multi-pitch routes where you clip frequently and quickly.
