DESCRIPTION
The Ortovox Shovel Beast is an avalanche shovel designed for those who refuse to compromise between lightness and field performance. With a total weight of just 580 grams, it belongs to the category of technical ski touring shovels where every gram in your backpack counts, without sacrificing the structural solidity required in a real emergency.
Construction and technical details
The assembly system has been carefully designed down to the smallest detail: the connection between the blade and the shaft is rigid and wobble-free, a quality that becomes crucial when digging under pressure in compact or layered snow conditions. The blade is made of high-strength aluminum, paired with a telescopic shaft that allows you to adjust the length according to the digging depth and the user's height. The blade's profile is optimized to move large volumes of snow with less effort.
Versatility and use
- Suitable for both those new to ski touring and experienced skiers with demanding needs
- Compact when disassembled, it fits comfortably in the backpack's shovel holder without taking up valuable space
- Ideal for trips in snowy environments, both for avalanche safety and for building shelters and emergency bivouacs
The Beast is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, lightweight, and immediately operational tool in the situations that truly matter.
