DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Rescucender is an openable camming device designed specifically for vertical rescue and recovery operations, where reliability and speed of operation are critical. Its removable cam design allows the device to be installed or removed from the rope at any point along the line, without having to pass it through the end—a crucial feature in emergency situations where every second counts.
Operation and field use
The Rescucender integrates into recovery systems as both a hauling device and a progress capture device, adapting to typical configurations used in adventure parks, alpine rescue, and industrial rescue teams. The toothed cam ensures a secure grip on the rope even under dynamic loading, while the ergonomic body design allows for quick operation even when wearing gloves or working under operational stress.
Technical specifications
- Compatible with 10 to 13 mm ropes, covering the standard range of rescue and work-at-height ropes
- Openable and removable cam for side loading onto the rope without access to the rope ends
- Built from an aluminum alloy for an optimal balance between mechanical strength and lightness
- CE marking and compliance with EN standards for ascent and fall protection devices
- Bottom attachment compatible with standard locking carabiners for integration into pulley or anchoring systems
Thanks to its ease of use and operational versatility, the Rescucender is a tool suitable for rescue professionals, instructors, and fall protection system operators who need a reliable and quickly repositionable locking device during recovery operations.
