DESCRIPTION

The La Sportiva TX5 Evo GTX are high approach shoes designed for those tackling mixed and technical terrain: from approach trails to via ferratas, and even trekking on rocky mule tracks at altitude. The mid-cut construction offers ankle support without sacrificing mobility, making them suitable for long outings on variable terrain.

Construction and protection

The upper is made of nubuck leather combined with the GORE-TEX ePE Extended Comfort membrane, one of the most advanced solutions in the GORE-TEX line: it guarantees certified waterproofing and superior breathability compared to traditional membranes, retaining the heat accumulated during the most demanding climbs. The result is a dry foot both when wading through a stream and after hours of walking in the sun.

Sole and grip

  • Vibram® Mega-Grip sole with a compound offering high grip on wet and dry rock
  • Impact Brake System geometry on the heel for controlled braking on descents
  • FriXion XF midsole that balances cushioning and ground feel
  • Reinforced toe cap and side protection for use on via ferratas and rocky terrain

The TX5 Evo platform stands out for its compatibility with via ferrata crampons thanks to the structured front profile, a practical detail that expands its range of use even in light winter conditions. For those looking for a versatile shoe between technical hiking and approach mountaineering, it represents a solid and well-balanced choice.
