DESCRIPTION
Available version: Atomic Backland 86 SL Men's Ski Touring Skis
The Atomic Backland 86 SL is a superlight all-round ski touring ski for full days in the mountains: it climbs quickly on the track and descends with confidence on fresh, hard, groomed snow and everything in between.
Construction
It reinterprets the Backland SL construction with a low-impact design and more low-CO₂ raw materials (-30% emissions compared to the 2021 Backland 85). The Ultra Light Woodcore made of poplar and carob is reinforced by a Carbon Backbone, a carbon insert along the entire ski. The All-Terrain profile improves climbing and grip on hard snow, while the HRZN 3D tip increases float in fresh snow and reduces tip weight.
Dimensions
| Length | Tip-waist-tail (mm) | Radius |
|---|---|---|
| 149 cm | 115-84-103 | 13.2 m |
| 157 cm | 117-84.5-105 | 14.2 m |
| 165 cm | 118.5-85-106.5 | 15.2 m |
| 172 cm | 120-85.5-108 | 16.2 m |
| 179 cm | 121.5-86-109.5 | 17.2 m |
Weight: 1150 g per ski (172 cm). All-Mountain Rocker 15/85/0. Pair with Atomic PreFit skins.
Fit
Available lengths: 165 cm. Atomic recommendations for ski touring: all-round skis approximately 5 cm shorter than your height, fast & light skis 5 to 10 cm shorter, freeride touring skis equal to your height or up to 5 cm longer. The shorter the ski, the more agile it is in turns; the longer the ski, the more stable it is and the better it floats.
Pair with: Atomic Skin 85/86 Ski Touring Skins, Atomic Backland Pure Ski Touring Binding, Atomic Backland Pro UL Men's Ski Touring Boot
