DESCRIPTION
The Fixe Pedraforca is a climbing rope with triple UIAA/CE certification — single (1), half (½) and twin (∞) — making it an extremely versatile tool for very different technical settings. With a diameter of 8.8 mm and a length of 80 metres, it offers a precise balance between lightness and dynamic performance, designed for long outings where every gram counts.
Construction and technology
The core and sheath are made using the proprietary Fusion technology, which distributes fall forces more evenly along the rope's structure. This results in greater cut resistance on sharp edges, jagged rocks and sharp ridges, common in alpine environments and on big walls. The treated sheath ensures smooth running through quickdraws and belay devices, even after prolonged wear.
Certified performance and areas of use
- UIAA falls (single use): 5 falls
- Reduced impact force to reduce stress on protection and the belayer
- Suitable for traditional mountaineering, multi-pitch routes, big wall climbing and sport climbing on demanding crags
- Particularly appreciated in exposed mountaineering settings where the triple certification allows the rope strategy to be adapted to the route's layout
The purple colour makes it easy to quickly identify the rope on the wall, a far from minor detail during complex manoeuvres at altitude.
