The Salewa Ortles HMS M is a pear-shaped carabiner with a screwgate, specifically designed for use with the Munter hitch (HMS) and for belaying maneuvers in crags and mountains. Its wide pear shape provides ample space for the rope to move, allowing it to accommodate multiple knots simultaneously or for the Munter hitch to slide smoothly and controllably even under load.
