The SALEWA NXT is a versatile harness that effectively bridges the gap between rock climbing and mountaineering, eliminating the need for two separate pieces of equipment. The structure is based on the proprietary FrameWave technology, a construction system that combines rigid bands and elastic zones in an integrated architecture: the result is a harness that distributes the load evenly along the pelvis and thighs, reducing pressure points even during prolonged hangs.
Construction and materials
FrameWave technology works on a wave-like structure that alternates rigidity where support is needed and flexibility where range of motion and comfort are required. This construction approach allows the harness to dynamically adapt to body position, both on vertical walls and during progression on mixed terrain. Its low weight and high compressibility make it compatible with use in a lightweight mountaineering backpack, without sacrificing the functionality of a structured climbing harness.
