The Wild Country Zero Friend 0.5 is a four-cam friend designed to protect very narrow cracks, pockets, and the characteristic scars left by pitons on high-difficulty routes. Size 0.5 covers an expansion range from 13.8 to 19.1 mm, placing it among the most reliable small-format friends for compact granite and the thin cracks of advanced sport climbing and trad.
Technical Construction
The head is designed with a particularly narrow profile to fit where conventional friends cannot, while the high-friction cams ensure grip even on smooth or slightly friable rock. The flexible stem reduces stress in case of a fall on oblique placements, helping to keep the friend stable and prevent unintentional walking within the crack.
