DESCRIPTION
The Wild Country Zero Friend 0.3 is a four-cam friend specifically designed for protection in very narrow cracks, where standard-sized devices cannot work reliably. It is a tool intended for traditional climbing on technical terrain: sections of compact granite, thin cracks, pockets, and the scars left by pitons on classic mountain routes.
Technical features
The low-profile head allows insertion into openings where geometry leaves no alternative, while the high-friction cam faces ensure grip even on smooth or wet rock. The flexible stem absorbs lateral stresses and rope movements, reducing the risk of the friend walking out of the crack during progression. The spring-loaded stem protection preserves the mechanical integrity of the device in the most demanding passages.
Operation and handling
The floating actuation mechanism with ergonomic design allows the friend to be placed and retrieved with one hand, even when wearing gloves or with fatigued fingers. The construction is designed to withstand the repeated stresses typical of intensive use on big walls and high-difficulty multi-pitch routes.
