The version with a hammer head makes it particularly suitable for placing ice and rock pitons in situations requiring precision and striking power.
Construction and modularity
The mounting system allows the head and shaft to be dismantled and replaced without tools, enabling the tool to be configured according to the terrain. The Sum'tec is compatible with Petzl PUR'ICE (optimized for pure ice) and DRY (for mixed and rock) blades, allowing the ice axe to be upgraded without replacing it entirely. It is also designed for the installation of MASSELOTTES, balance weights that modify the tool's balance point, adapting its dynamic behavior to user preferences.
Ergonomics and grip
The tool-free adjustable TRIGREST allows for quick adjustment of hand position based on climbing technique or glove thickness, ensuring a secure grip both during work and during fast progressions on ice.
