Weighing only 34 grams, it sits in an intermediate range between traditional gate and wire-gate carabiners, offering a versatile solution for building the belay chain.
Technology and construction
The body is made with Petzl's proprietary MonoFil technology, which allows for a reduced cross-section profile while maintaining an optimal strength-to-weight ratio. The H-shaped cross-section efficiently distributes loads throughout the body's structure, reducing the amount of material used without compromising mechanical integrity. The shaped nose integrates the Keylock system, which eliminates the traditional hook geometry: this completely eliminates the risk of unintentional snagging on protection, anchor rings, and slings during use.
