DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Pur'Ice pick is an interchangeable component designed for modular ice axes, specifically for technical ice climbing. The tip geometry allows for a clean and deep penetration into the ice, minimizing the effort required for placement, while the curved pick profile allows for quick and controlled extraction even on compact or glassy ice.
Technical Features
- Compatible with Petzl modular head ice axes, field-replaceable without special tools
- Serration on the upper part of the pick: ensures a stable and non-slip grip when the ice axe is held in an inverted position (piolet-cane technique on moderate slopes)
- Tip geometry optimized for alpine ice and icefalls, where ice quality varies continuously
- Construction in treated steel for high strength and edge retention over time

On icefalls or steep couloirs, where every placement must be precise and ice axe recovery quick, the Pur'Ice offers a concrete advantage over universal picks.
