DESCRIPTION
The Petzl RIG is a self-braking descender with a closed body designed for those who work at height continuously: rope access work, rope access, work at height on industrial or natural structures. Its compact geometry and light weight make it a practical choice when rope management needs to be precise, fast, and safe.
Mechanics and Locking System
The heart of the RIG is the AUTO-LOCK system: when the handle is not acted upon, the device automatically locks the rope without requiring active intervention from the operator. This allows you to position yourself at the workstation with your hands free, without having to perform a manual tie-off. The ergonomic handle allows for progressive modulation of the descent, with intuitive speed control even under fatigue. The closed body protects the rope from the external environment and reduces the risk of accidental snagging.
