DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Core is the rechargeable battery specifically designed for Petzl headlamps featuring HYBRID CONCEPT technology, namely the TIKKID, TIKKINA, TIKKA, ACTIK, ARIA, and IKO models. It replaces traditional AAA batteries when you want to switch to a rechargeable power source without having to change your headlamp.
Technical specifications
The 1250 mAh lithium-ion cell ensures long battery life and stable lighting performance even when temperatures drop below freezing, a critical condition in contexts such as ski mountaineering or winter mountaineering. Unlike NiMH batteries, lithium-ion chemistry maintains a more constant discharge voltage, avoiding the progressive drop in brightness typical of alkaline batteries.
Charging takes place directly through the USB-C port integrated into the battery, without having to remove the headlamp: simply open the flap and connect a standard cable. This simplifies management in a mountain hut, in the car, or at any point with a USB charger.
When it's the right choice
The Core is recommended for those who use their headlamp with high or intensive frequency, where the cost and waste of disposable batteries become significant. For those who undertake sporadic outings or in remote areas without the possibility of recharging, the HYBRID CONCEPT system still allows you to keep a set of spare AAA batteries as a backup.
