DESCRIPTION
The Dolomite towers of San Martino di Castrozza are among the most challenging walls in the Southern Alps: aggressive rock surfaces, sudden temperature changes, and days that stretch far beyond expectations. The ORTOVOX Pala Hooded Jacket was developed specifically for this context, as part of the MERINO SHIELD TEC line designed for long alpine rock climbs.
Construction and Materials
The outer fabric of Merino Shield Tec combines the natural thermoregulation of merino wool with a highly abrasion-resistant technical weave, designed to withstand prolonged contact with rock without rapid degradation. The merino component ensures active moisture management and maintains thermal properties even when the garment is partially wet, a feature that pure synthetic fabrics do not replicate with the same effectiveness.
