The Mammut Alugator Light is an avalanche shovel designed for those who want real digging performance while keeping backpack weight under control. Its strength lies in the anodized aluminum blade, a material that guarantees robustness and corrosion resistance while keeping the overall weight low: a combination difficult to achieve in avalanche rescue shovels.
Blade construction and geometry
The blade is designed with an anti-roll profile that stabilizes the shovel during high-frequency digging, reducing physical effort during the most critical phases of rescue. The sharp edge effectively penetrates compact snow and hard snow slabs typical of avalanche debris. The integrated attachment holes in the blade allow for quickly assembling a snow anchor, a fundamental tactical function for building a safety system in an alpine environment.
