FIXE Vignemale 8.0 mm - 60 Meters - Green - Green is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The FIXE Vignemale 8.0 mm is a dynamic rope with dual UIAA certification as a half rope and twin rope, designed for those tackling technical terrain where lightness and protection system management make a difference. With a diameter of 8.0 mm and a length of 60 meters, its green color allows for easy distinction from the second strand on the wall.
Technical Performance
The most significant data point is its weight of only 41 g/m, which over 60 meters brings the total load to approximately 2.46 kg: a value that translates into real freedom of movement during long high-altitude excursions. The construction guarantees low rigidity and high glide through quickdraws, reducing friction even on sections with frequent changes of direction.
Areas of Use
- Ice and mixed climbing, where single-strand use for alternating protection points reduces the impact force on the body
- Technical mountaineering and high-altitude ascents with significant elevation gains
- Alpine routes on rock that require differentiated management of the two ropes
- Roped approaches where the overall weight of the equipment is a critical parameter
The dual certification as a half rope (½) and twin rope (∞) offers operational flexibility: it can be used both in combination with a second strand for alternate protection, and with both ropes in parallel on high-fall-risk terrain.
