The EDELRID Tommy Caldwell ECO DRY CT 9.3mm is the result of a direct collaboration with Tommy Caldwell, one of the world's strongest big wall climbers, known for the first free ascent of the Dawn Wall on El Capitan. The project is not just a marketing exercise: the rope's specifications reflect the real needs of those facing long routes, multiple pitches, and variable weather conditions.
Technology and construction
The 9.3mm diameter offers a precise balance between handling and durability, with a 70-meter length designed for long routes where every meter counts. The Color Tec technology directly integrates a clear color change into the sheath, permanently indicating the rope's center point without external markings that wear off over time. The ECO DRY treatment waterproofs both the core and the outer sheath, reducing water absorption and maintaining dynamic performance even in the presence of rain, snow, or high humidity. Production on a single continuous braid ensures an even distribution of fibers along the entire length, contributing to greater durability and more predictable behavior during a fall.
