DESCRIPTION
The EDELRID HMS Bulletproof Screw FG is a pear-shaped screw-gate carabiner designed for belaying at crags and on multi-pitch routes, distinguished by a practical construction solution: a steel insert at the apex that protects the aluminum body from wear caused by continuous rope friction. This technical detail significantly extends the carabiner's lifespan compared to models made entirely of aluminum, making the Bulletproof particularly suitable for those who use tubular belay devices such as EDELRID's Mega Jul or Jul.
Construction and mechanisms
An internal spring bar prevents the carabiner from twisting when used with a belay device, keeping the system correctly oriented at all times and reducing the risk of incorrect positioning under load. The Keylock mechanism on the gate opening eliminates the traditional hook, preventing accidental snagging on bolts, slings, or other gear during more frantic maneuvers.
