The CAMP Zenith 57 cm is a versatile ice axe designed for those who want a single tool capable of handling various alpine situations: from progression on compact snow to more demanding glacier excursions, and even moderate mixed climbing. Its purpose is to accompany climbers without fatigue during long approaches, while remaining ready when the slope increases and precision is needed.
Construction and Technical Data
The shaft is made of 7075 aluminum, one of the strongest alloys in its category, which keeps the overall weight down without sacrificing tensile stiffness. The stainless steel pick ensures clean penetration into snow and high durability even after intensive use on abrasive surfaces. The forged adze provides effective support for self-arrests and digging maneuvers. The length of 57 cm makes it suitable for classic alpine terrain, offering an ideal balance between maneuverability while walking and control during steep progression.
Balance and Handling
The weight distribution along the shaft is designed to reduce wrist fatigue during long flat traverses or on moderate slopes, where the ice axe is used as a support stick.
