DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Ikon Nova was born from the need to overcome the traditional compromise between strength and lightness in climbing helmets. Its hybrid architecture combines the solidity of a hardshell helmet — thanks to the external reinforced ABS shell — with the lightness and breathability typical of in-mold helmets.
Construction and Protection
The structural strong point is the 3D rib construction positioned at the honeycomb ventilation openings: this geometry distributes impact loads without sacrificing the ventilation section, maintaining the shell's resistance even in the most exposed areas. The result is a helmet that withstands lateral impacts and falling material from above with hardshell performance, while reducing the overall perceived weight during long climbing sessions.
Fit and Use
The shell is designed with a low-profile geometry that adapts to head shapes with a smaller circumference, ensuring a stable fit without excessive pressure. The internal adjustment system allows for precise adaptation, useful both in crags and alpine environments. The honeycomb ventilation openings ensure constant airflow, making the Ikon Nova suitable even for hotter days or demanding sport climbing routes where thermal management makes a difference.
