DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Vision MIPS is the most durable foam helmet in the entire Black Diamond range, designed for those who tackle challenging vertical environments where protection cannot be compromised. The internal structure combines composite EPP foam with an EPS insert, a combination that ensures excellent shock absorption capacity by distributing impact energy over a larger surface area compared to single-foam helmets. The ABS outer shell adds a layer of rigid protection against rockfall and lateral impacts, a particularly relevant feature in crags and alpine environments.
MIPS Technology and Multidirectional Protection
The MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) is integrated directly into the helmet's structure: a low-friction inner layer allows for a relative rotation of approximately 10-15 mm between the helmet and the head at the moment of impact, reducing the rotational forces transmitted to the brain in the event of oblique impacts, which are the most common type in climbing falls.
