DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Camalot Z4 in size 0 represents the evolution of single-stem cams for rock climbing. Its distinguishing feature is RigidFlex technology: the stem remains rigid during placement for precision and control but flexes elastically once you climb past the protection point, drastically reducing the risk of accidental displacement of the cam from its placement.
Technology and Construction
Unlike classic flexible stems, the RigidFlex system offers the best of both solutions: the stability of a rigid stem during placement and the flexibility of a flexible one during progression. This translates into more reliable anchoring and significantly simplified protection management, especially in irregular cracks or hard-to-reach positions. Size 0 covers an expansion range of 13.8 to 19.6 mm, making it ideal for thin and narrow cracks, typical of granite climbing or routes with close protection.
