DESCRIPTION
The BEAL Opera 8.5mm Unicore is currently the lightest single rope available on the market, weighing just 48 grams per meter — the first single rope to fall below the 50 g/m threshold. In a 50-meter length, this translates to a total weight of just 2.4 kg, a real advantage on long routes, big walls, and challenging approaches where every gram counts.
Technologies and construction
At the core of the rope is BEAL's Unicore technology, which welds the sheath to the core along its entire length, preventing sheath slippage even in case of wear or partial cuts — a tangible safety factor in critical situations. The DRY Cover treatment waterproofs the outer sheath, limiting water absorption and maintaining the rope's dynamic properties even in humid, rainy, or snowy conditions. The reduced Impact Force ensures a gentler catch, reducing the load on the body and protection during a fall.
