DESCRIPTION
The BEAL Joker 9.1mm Unicore DRY Cover is a climbing rope with a rare characteristic in its segment: triple UIAA certification as a single, half, and twin rope. This means that a single rope covers very different technical scenarios—from sport climbing routes on crags to big alpine walls, including ice and mixed climbing—without having to change equipment.
Construction and Protection
Its 9.1mm diameter places it in the high-performance thin rope category, with a low weight that translates into less fatigue during long ascents. BEAL's Unicore construction technology bonds the core to the sheath using a thermofusion process: the result is a monolithic structure that eliminates sheath slippage, keeps the rope consistent over time, and improves glide through quickdraws. The DRY Cover treatment applies water-repellent protection to the outer sheath only, still ensuring good resistance to moisture and snow absorption, common conditions in alpinism and ice climbing.
