DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Tibloc is an ultralight emergency ascender, designed for rope ascent, hauling, and self-rescue in critical situations. Weighing only 38 grams, it is one of the lightest progression aids available and takes up minimal space on a harness or in a backpack, making it ideal as a readily available backup device.
Operation and compatibility
The mechanism is based on stainless steel teeth that bite into the rope under load, ensuring effective gripping. The automatic karabiner attachment system allows the Tibloc to be placed on the rope quickly, without the need for openings or levers: it simply needs to be paired with a locking karabiner (not included) to complete the device. It is compatible with ropes from 8 to 11 mm in diameter, covering most climbing and mountaineering ropes on the market.

- Rope ascender for jumar technique or in self-rescue systems
- Substitute for a prusik knot in emergency conditions
- Redirect ascender in a Y-configuration for hauling systems
