DESCRIPTION
The PETZL Basic is a manual rope clamp designed for ascending fixed ropes and for use as a progress capture device in hauling systems. Its compact shape makes it particularly easy to handle, ensuring a secure grip even in prolonged working conditions or with gloves.
Construction and Mechanism
The body is made of anodized aluminum, with a toothed cam with a self-cleaning slot that ensures a reliable grip on the rope in all conditions. The locking mechanism is unidirectional: it slides freely upwards and locks instantly in case of downward load. The large lower hole allows for easy connection of lanyard and footloop carabiners, simplifying the setup of footloop systems for ascending.
