DESCRIPTION
The Petzl ASAP is a mobile fall arrester designed for protection on a tensioned rope during work at height. Unlike traditional rope clamps, the ASAP requires no manipulation during movement: it automatically slides along the rope under normal conditions and autonomously intervenes, instantly locking in case of impact, fall, or sudden acceleration.
Safety mechanism and compatibility
The heart of the device is an oscillating cam with a multi-directional locking system, which ensures stopping even in situations of sudden load from different directions. The ASAP is compatible with ropes with a diameter between 10 and 13 mm and can be combined with the Petzl ASAP'SORBER energy absorber to reduce the arrest force transmitted to the body during a fall. Connection to the harness is made via a connector with a minimum opening of 18 mm.
